To my favourite son,
Wishing you a very happy b'day!...So my favourite little boy is now 12mths old, what a fast and tiring 21months we've had (12mths + 9mths waiting for you). Your mum and i have been through the excitement of waiting for you to be born and then the anticlimax of you not coming out on your due date and then the feeling of "Are u ever gonna come out?". You finally picked the date 08/03/08 to finally make your presence in this world official.
Who could have guessed that this little alien looking baby with the cone head (you looked like mummy by the way) would 12mths later be the cutest baby i've ever seen (has Ba-ba's genes for sure =P )have 7 teeth (for biting mummy and daddy), crawling and walking (so u can chase Moet), have his first french fries at the zoo and find it funny to give Ba-Ba a nipple cripple. I wonder when you can wipe your own butt?cause your poo smells and your mum runs away everytime its poo diaper time, leaving your Ba-ba to try and wipe your butt and keep you from rubbing the poo with your hands...Wonder if you'll return the favour when your Ba-ba is old and can't do it himself...
Speaking of Ba-ba i've been trying to teach you to call your daddy, "Ba-Ba" but so far you've just smiled that cheeky smile and call me "Dadda" or "Ugh!"...I know you understand already and that your just being your little cheeky monkey self..
So did you enjoy the zoo trip for your b'day? What a wet and wild time we had, literally, your mum and dad were soaked making a run for the ferry from the middle of the zoo. Somehow we managed to keep you dry and warm while we dripped of rain...I think your favourite animal on the day was the seal at the show which you pointed to and laughed...you seem quite stunned though when you went to see the giraffe, elephants, lions and tiger. But you found it quite amusing when Ba-ba made lion sounds and you ended up biting my arm..
I thought maybe i should list your favourite things at 12mths incase you ever want to know:
1.) That little blue blankie of yours (This blankie is like the ultimate stop Jordan from crying tool, Will i need to bring it to your wedding for when you get emotional or maybe your mummy will need it to wipe away her tears of joy as she will remember her little boy has grown up)
2.) Thomas the tank intro songs and ending songs (if you ever wanna see the Jordan bum dance then play this toon - you have the funniest little dance)
3.) Blueberries (I can't believe how much you love these berries, everytime you see them you smile and have to grab a handfull to shove into your mouth. Everytime you end up with blue smudge marks around your mouth and on your High-chair. You also love the blueberry pancakes i make for you.)
4.) Moet (Who could have thought that as soon as you learnt to crawl you'd start to chase Moet around and when you get the opportunity you pounce on her and start laughing as soon as she tries to escape from your blueberry hands)
5.) Aeroplanes (everytime you hear a plane you look to the sky and as soon as you see it you go "ugh!" and point it out to everyone - I wonder what you are gonna do when you actually get to ride one this week as we head to Hong Kong to see your relatives)
So to Hong Kong we go this Wednesday 11th Mar 09. You will not only get to see planes at the airport but actually ride one. I think your mum and i are dreading what you will be like for 9hrs stuck on a plane on our laps..We've experienced what your like on a 40min train ride to the city so your mum's been frantically thinking of things to keep you entertained for the trip..I don't know who will be more excited going on that plane though your mum or you. She can't stop thinking about eating in Hong Kong and what she can buy...I think you are gonna get spoiled in Hong Kong when your Dai Yi Ma, GungGung and PawPaw see you, when they will until we hit Macau and they are all too busy in the casino, hahha....so it'll just be U and I little buddy roaming the streets...
So to my favourite son i hope you are always happy and know that your mum and dad love you very very much. This 12mths we have both learnt alot about being a parent and trying to be a good one. We've shared our first worry about you having a fever and waited at the Hospital till 4am to see a doctor, shared your first swim lesson and laughed as you learnt to avoid doing the underwater lessons by crying. We've woken up many a times in the night to check on you and put the blanket over you, we've put you in our bed on cold nights to sleep and woken up many a times with your feet resting on our face as you have rotated around in your sleep or you wanting to share your blankies smell and sticking it in our faces so Ba-ba pretends to faint from the smell so you can laugh..
Its been such a rewarding experience and its a joy and pleasure to have you, so thats it for now. Lotsa love Lo Ba-ba....
P.S Whats with that rotating around in your sleep and kicking away all the blankets?
